First check that the main valve coming into your house is fully open. Then check all the valves on the line to the shower is fully open. If there isn’t enough water to cool the shower properly the safety device will turn off the power until it cools and starts to heat again- this cycle will keep repeating until corrected.

W-006-A THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED The installation, supply cable and circuit protection must conform with BS 7671 (IEE Fig. Wiring regulations) and be sufficient for the amperage required.

Make sure that the shower head is clean and that the hose isn’t kinked. Check the hose thoroughly- it may look okay externally but could have collapsed internally.

The other possibility is a faulty flow/stabilizer valve not allowing the correct amount of water into the shower.

A rough check is to remove the shower head, turn the temperature control to fully hot. Take a note of the water flow. Then turn the water to fully cold. If there isn’t a big difference between the two then you could have a faulty flow valve.

A replacement flow valve may be purchased online here: www.showerdoc.com

Triton t80si temperature problems

“So much trouble!”

Written on: 27/03/2012

We had a Triton T80si pumped shower installed by electricians around ten years ago. From the start the on/off switch kept sticking. Nice as he was, the Triton engineer couldn't work out why it kept sticking. Apparently, they'd never come across the problem before and couldn't reproduce it at their testing place. Unable to diagnose the fault he replaced the cover and it rectified the problem. I did take umbrage at the suggestion from Triton head office that it must have been the soap, shampoo or conditioner we were using! Anyway, that was resolved and during its extended warranty, it was one thing after another. The engineer was a lovely guy who always resolved the problem to our satisfaction to the extent that when the can started leaking and setting off the RCD he replaced the whole shower. He then warned us that under the terms and conditions, we no longer had a warranty since we had a different shower. I wasn't happy to hear that since we'd paid to extend the warranty for, I think, five years in the belief that I would have a working shower for five years. Luckily, the new shower didn't fail before the warranty finally expired, so we didn't have to get into any arguments with Triton. After the warranty expired, the shower did start to fail on a few occasions, but my husband, being a 'competent person', took to diagnosing and resolving the problem himself with the excellent help of Showerdoc. Triton's customer service leaves a lot to be desired. We most recently replaced a part just before Christmas 2011 and wanted the part urgently. I paid for next day delivery. When the next day the item had not arrived at 5pm I called to establish the situation and was told it might be delivered that day or it might be the day after. I pointed out that I had paid for next day delivery and the girl said again that it might or might not be delivered. She clearly didn't care. I told her it had better be delivered that day or I would expect a refund of the next day delivery charge I had paid, to which she gave me a sarcastically polite reply. In fact, the part did arrive later that day, but I suspect that was because I made a fuss. With a few exceptions (the lovely engineer and one very helpful girl who helped us when the wrong part was sent),the Triton staff do not adopt the right attitude when dealing with customer enquiries, and this must be down to training. Anyway, I'm writing this review because the shower's gone wrong again and I'm looking for help on the internet as to why it should keep immediately tripping the RCD. My honest opinion is that I wouldn't buy one again.
